Airmail Pickup, a documentary about the All American Aviation airmail service is in production.
To get mail to and from small towns across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio and West Virginia in the 1940's All American Aviation used a unique airhook system. Mail bags were attached to loops of rope strung between pairs of tall posts so that planes could swoop down, catch the rope with the hook on the belly of the aircraft and then climb rapidly to continue over the hills to the next pickup.
Airmail Pickup will tell the stories of the daring men who flew the planes and the flight mechanics who trusted those pilots with their lives while operating the airhook.
